Being a traditional rural area, the development and economic and social stability of the region can only be achieved by creating a symbiosis between the natural and local communities. Lotic ecosystems of White Cris and Mures rivers and untouched parts of nature in the target area, provide a solid basis for rehabilitation. The most important natural potential of the traditional rural region is the soil quality, whose conservation requires the optimal use of land, human pressure reduction and elimination of pollution.

The need for economic growth for local communities is very high, putting great pressure on natural resources management system. In many cases, the need for economic growth of local Romanian and Hungarian communities leaves no space and need for environmental burdens.

Planned activities are closely linked with the Sustainable Development Strategy of the European Union: Preservation and management of natural resources (to improve management and avoid over-exploitation of natural resources, recognizing the value of ecosystems).
